Anthony Hopper 1

On a watercolour art course 'holiday' at St.Ives in Cornwall, which was provided as a 70th birthday present by his son, Tony has sent back this very colourful image. Hopefully there will be more to follow.

As another Armistice weekend passes, Tony has painted this very poignant image.

Inspired by his recent visit to The Van Gogh Experience in London, Tony has painted this Christmas card in watercolour based on Vincent's oil painting ‘Starry Night’.

And another Van Gogh inspired painting, Tony has made a watercolour copy of 'The Church at Auvers-sur-Oise'.

Tony says "I have chosen to do a few drawings of myself in lockdown. My first submission is a pencil drawing of me taking my daily exercise, walking the streets of Lexden and Stanway, the second is of me receiving my first Covid vaccination, the third is of me having a video call with a friend and lastly me celebrating my 70th birthday. Now on to pastures new".

Many Happy Returns Tony. Thank you for the drawings.

Tony's very first three contributions. A watercolour, a pastel and a pen and ink.

Tony's Watercolour ...

his Pastel ...

... & his Pen & ink

Tony has sent in two more studies where he is practising bold skies and water reflections.

Here is a pastel painting of Tony's Cockerpoo called Teddy. Yes, I had to look it up.

(Wikipedia) A Cockapoo is a dog crossbreed bred from a Cocker Spaniel and a Poodle, most commonly the Miniature Poodle.

Also a watercolour of Tony's son's 2 year old Miniature Schnauzer called Max ...

... and of his daughter's 9 month old Show Cocker called Lilo.

Now a couple of pen & ink drawings from one of Tony's summer days out at a nursery somewhere near Dedham.
